Ayurvedic Practitioner Neha at Balanced Ayurveda talks about Infertility – Women’s Health
Today we will talk about a very common problem nowadays which is infertility. So when a woman is unable to conceive with one or more years of Trying To Conceive (TTC) with regular unprotected sexual intercourse or she keeps having recurrent miscarriages is known as infertility.
There are two types of Infertility; primary and secondary. In primary infertility they have never conceived and in secondary they have prior successful pregnancies but now they are unable to conceive. So what are the causes of infertility? There may be many causes; it may be because of health related problems, like in women it may be because of endometriosis poly-cystic ovarian syndrome, tubal blockage; in men it may be because of low sperm count, low sperm motility. It may also be because of poor nutrition, poor digestion, bad habits like smoking etc. Nowadays a very common problem, very common cause of infertility is stress.
Ayurveda gives great importance to preparation of both male and female partners prior to conception. So according to Ayurveda the birth of a healthy child is seen as equivalent to planting a tree. So to plant a tree, we need seed, soil, time and proper nourishment. Similarly for the birth of a healthy child we need healthy ovum, sperm, healthy uterus, fertile period and proper nutrition. The basis of Ayurvedic treatment in case of fertility is to make sure that a woman is ovulating regularly and she is producing a healthy ovum and the man’s sperm count and sperm production is adequate and all this depends upon the health of the reproductive system of both male and female partners.
The health of the reproductive tissue of both male and female partner is completely dependent on the health of the other six types of the tissues what Ayurveda recognizes. And the health of all the tissues of the body is completely dependent upon a good digestion. So here at Balanced Ayurveda we provide a diet chart and lifestyle recommendations according to your body type. We also recommend some herbal supplements if needed to strengthen your reproductive system and we also provide detoxification therapies if needed.
